A key feature of any kitchen in the modern age is a trash can hidden in one of the base cabinets. The most convenient way to do this is to incorporate a “pull-out” accessory. Typically these will hold one or two cans of a 35 or 50 quart size depending upon the width and height of the cabinet.
“Where do you put them?” The location of your trash can should be a practical spot that fits with your normal workflow pattern. I like to center around the sink with the dishwasher on one side and the trash can on the other. If that is not practical in your layout consider placing it where it will be centrally located to the sink and the entrance to the kitchen. Or, maybe, the door if it’s to the outside.
